Band Quest Practice

 Yesterday I had band practice with Cornelia, Ella, Louie, Bill, Stavers, Harry and Nathan. Ricky was our teacher. The reason why we were practicing music, was because Band Quest was coming up, and the band school had signed up to take part in the enormous competition. When you take part in band Quest you need to play 2 songs. The songs we chose were Happen To Me by BENEE, and, So True by THE BLACK SEEDS. Cornelia was playing the bass for so true, and the E-guitar for happen to me. Ella and Cornelia were both singers for both songs. Louie was Playing the E- guitar for both songs. Bill was playing the keyboard for both songs as well. Stavers was playing E- guitar for so true and bass for happen to me. I don't know what instrument harry is playing but I do know that Nathan was the drummer for both songs.I was also playing the E-guitar. It took Half an hour[30 min] to actually practice. After we practiced both songs, we helped Ricky pack up the gear we used.

 Then we walked outside at the back of the hall. Why were we there you ask? Oh yes, how could I forget! Ricky said we had to make a band name up in 5 minutes, otherwise he would choose a name for us at the choice of Waireiti or Waireiti. Of course no one wanted that name! So we Quickly made suggestions like, Black guns? No already a band name. Poisoned roses? No already a band name. What were we to do! "Hey, you guys, what about open doorz?" Ricky said, a bit of excitement in his voice. " Cause if the lady asks how you got your band name, all you need to say is: We were wondering what our band name was and then we looked up and we were under open doors. So that's how we got the name! Plus we all agreed to it!

So that's what happened on tuesday afternoon. Band practice with Ricky, and band name choosing with the band. Hey, I should say With the open doorz! 

Quick-Write, Sentence Starters: Today Was Just An Ordinary Day...

Today was just an ordinary day, when something very strange happened.

It first started in the restaurant, the chef was cooking for the king of Auradon, but when he went back into the kitchen to bring the meal to the king, the chef screamed. The reason why the chef had screamed was because there, sitting in the boiling hot, cooking pot, sat a small red dragon!🐲

Today's newspapers front page said "Today a large golden adult Phoenix had been sitting in the royal flower pot in the green garden, remembrance of the old king, Cerabes death in the second and last war between the rebels and the royals in Auradon. Also there has been a three headed dog guarding the front gates of the old graveyard, apparently named Cerberus."

Another note from the reporter today was that there had been another sighting of a so called 'Chimera' walking around my school wainui Beach. Just saying but I saw a unicorn in my backyard this morning when I woke up. I didn't want to tell mum because she would be pretty tied up with the poor creature, just because it was eating her precious  hydrangea flowers. Hey, If I would be a unicorn, I would eat those flowers as well, they look really pretty!

Half an hour later, when we had to get my bank account sorted , they wouldn't let us in because there had been a griffin stalking the jewels and money✨. Arghhhhh! Just stink! I was really looking forward to getting my bank account you know!  I had to wait a long time already, and now this?! Humph!

As soon as people heard from around the world ,half those people had either fainted thinking that that drama would happen to them as well. And I'm pretty sure it will according to my friend here!{The UNICORN obviously!⭐}

Hopefully, just hopefully it would happen again tomorrow! I just love mythical creatures💗! Especially when I can write about them! A huh! I know, you're already famous Unique!

Get it? Unique? As in unicorn? Meh, never mind!

Retell: Firefighter saves kitten, By Josephine lambert

This is a true story written by me, except, I am pretending that I am the firefighter! 🐉 😄 

This was a L3 writing activity.  We had to write from the firefighter's perspective.  Koka Ngaire wanted us to write more - but not waffle.

We used ARMS (add, remove, move & substitute) to recraft.  Next time I am going to work on the words that I use - so that my writing is more powerful.

Sirens blared as I stepped into the  small smoky house. As I, the brave firefighter, grasped the torch I was holding, I clomped inside with my heavy fireproof suit. The torch illuminated in the darkness, showing  a desk with overflowing papers half burned and half torn. On the other side of the room, there was a bed with ash spilled all over it. I pushed the burned door lightly, and the whole door collapsed onto the soot stained carpet. I then stepped forward into the room, shone my torch in all directions, and finally the right side of the floor. 

There as far as the  naked eye could see, lay a young kitten, soot striped across his dark black nose and his spotted forehead - almost like a tiger's. I picked up the motionless creature, murmuring under my breath - ”you will be alright. Im sure of it.” I walked calmly towards the opened front door, stepped over the pile of smoking ash, and scampered outside.

 I lay the kitten down on the concrete driveway, and poured the rest of my water bottle’s warm contents over the kitten. After that, I placed a air mask to his delicate mouth and nose, that would pump air into the lifeless creature’s lungs to keep the kittens heart pumping blood through his body. After a few minutes, the kitten struggled to get the mask off. Calmly I took it off the poor kittens mouth and started to dry him off. He was dry but now cold, I placed him on top of my arm and around my stomach - It was great to save a life and I was sure that I was going to save another again - yeah, pretty sure of that. 

My fellow firefighters did one last check through the house - just in case there was another life to save that we didn’t notice, but when they all came back I knew that everything was going to be alright.  We talked to the lady who owned the house, drove to the petrol station to refill the truck with petrol, and back to the fire station.

 The 18th of november was a special day for wainui beach school because on that day the fully practiced students that were schooled there were performing Their kupu waiata.  They got dressed in their uniforms and then got their mokos painted on with a special ink that can come off easily. Then when they were ready 4 busses arrived and jumped on and off they dove with all their equipment and teachers. 

When they arrived at the showgrounds they all piled out excitedly and sang their school songs that would they would perform on stage. Then the lady came out and told them that they would be next up on the show. Then they sang their songs on the stage and made most of the old women cry, meh, then they piled off the stage and watched the others then they went back on stage and sang their most special song Tumaira and then they went back to their taonga wainui beach school!

And we are wearing the same clothes and other interesting girly things.  Anyway enough with that load of nonsense! I'll write another blog about what happened on monday that means I'll have two blog posts : ]

Watching speeches finals

 As I watched the speech finals, I learned alot about the characters like Rosa parks,  Kate shepard, Mr ford and many others! Listening to other people talk about real interesting facts, gets my mind moving. I also take in the information on what's going on. That is why I like listening to speeches. I get It know that people like Jacinda Ardern need speeches so the world {or the country} can Be a better place!
